BIG BLOCK
Jimmy Phelps turned the Moody Mile in 31.592 seconds to score the pole position for Sunday’s SEF Small Engine Fuels 200 Thursday. Phelps beat Billy Decker by less than a tenth of a second to secure the top spot in his Wave Energy Drink-sponsored Troyer.

358s
Decker wasn’t entirely denied on the day. The Unadilla, New York, driver will start Saturday’s Salute to the Troops 150 from the top spot in his Gypsum Wholesalers-sponsored Bicknell.

I went to that and Rolling Wheels Raceway Park last night. Last night's finish was amazing. Danny Johnson and Brett Hearn were side-by-side for the final 5 laps or so. They went down the back on the final lap, Hearn ran into the back of a lapped car heading into 3, Johnson booted him out of the way, and went on to take the checkers. Hearn ended up breaking the front end, and finishing 2nd. The whole crowd was up on their feet, and cheered like crazy when Danny booted Brett. I personally wanted Hearn to win, but I cheered when Johnson made the pass, because the way he did it impressed me. Oh, and I forgot to mention, Hearn led every lap, except the last one.
