Season 50 - TallyChallenge Racing Series Incident Reports

Lap 3 #13 into #6, starting an incident immediately behind him as cars scattered to try to avoid a wreck. #13 charged with the incident and served his penalty. #41 is also given a warning for failing to slow faster for the wreck ahead.

Lap 25 #60 gets into #2 in #2's pit stall. This is considered an incident since #60 is driving in the pit stalls section of the track. During the yellow the next lap, #60 does pit and get far enough to the back where I will consider this penalty served.

Lap 26 #28 misses a shift and blows his motor, causing him to spin and bring out the caution. This is considered an incident. #28 obviously parked due to the blown motor.

Lap 47 #90 slows to pit but never gets off the racing surface before getting hit from behind by #26. Incident is charged to #90. #90 served his penalty.

Lap 48 #27 gets hit by #84, but this is being called a "racin' deal" as #84 did not have enough time to react to the check-up.

Lap 64 #17 gets into the back of #088 entering the tri-oval. After a long review, we called this a "racin' deal". #17 was likely to get spun out if he let off, so he was in a tight window to work with. Considering that AND considering it was the race for the win, it's perfectly legitimate to expect hard, close racing. Unfortunately, it resulted in a wreck. No incidents charged and #17 DID serve a drive-through penalty just to be on the safe side.

The finishing order has been updated. Per the rules: If an accident happens at the start/finish line with 4 or less laps to go, the field will be froze on how all drivers merge back into the field, NOT your F2 position.

FANTASTIC first race everyone! Quality racing throughout the field, green flag pit stops, and an exciting finish (until the yellow).

Later this week, we will figure out the criteria for eligibility for the next race.

Lap 4 - an accordion effect check-up leads to a wreck. We reviewed and determined this was a "racin' deal"; no incident charged.

Lap 20- #13 warp wreck; penalty served.

Lap 39- #72 loses control of his car and crashes into #60; #72 did not serve his penalty and is docked 1 lap in the final standings.

Lap 52- #36 slides up into #003; #36 served his penalty.

Lap 56- on the restart, #143 is several car-lengths back when the green comes out. He is also late on the gas. These 2 issues caused a wreck behind him. #143 is charged for the incident and did not serve the penalty; 1 lap penalty.

Lap 57- #72 and #083 get into each other exiting turn two; incident on both drivers. #083 did not serve and is issued a 1 lap penalty. This was #72's second incident. He did not serve this penalty either nor did he retire. #72's scoring is stopped on this lap, and he is parked next week. ALSO, per the rules, if #72 does not serve a penalty for anymore incidents, he is on a 1-and-park for the remainder of the season.

Lap 62- a slight check-up in the tri-oval causes #712 to get into the back of #17. This same kind of wreck happened two weeks ago and was called a "racin' deal". To keep the calls consistent, this too, must be called a "racin' deal", but be aware, we are going to be more aggressive in our calls of close quarters and tandem drafting, especially in the turns and tri-oval. ALSO in this incident, #36 is charged with Careless driving (racing into a wreck). #36 retired and will be on a 1-and-park next week.

DNQs next week: #10, #088, #90
1-and-parks: #36
Parked next race: #72

Lap 2- #60 drifts up into #13; #60 served.

Lap 7- #8 blown motor; no incident charged.

Lap 15- #87 turns down into #011; #87 served.

Lap 22- #60 slides up into #84; #60 retired.
- #011 Careless driving (not slowing enough and causing damage to another driver; first offense is a warning).
- #54 Racing into a wreck (first offense is warning and 10 point penalty).

Lap 45- #27 slows on racing surface and gets hit from behind. It is up to the driver pitting to get as low as possible before slowing; incident charged to #27 who retired.

Lap 66- #23 clips the wall and collects #4, starting an incident. #23 is scored EOLL.

PENALTIES: We had 15 drivers get a game-issued EOLL penalty on Lap 45 for entering a closed pit and getting service done on pit road. We also had 2 other drivers who entered the pits but did NOT get service, and thus avoided receiving a penalty from the game. Of the 15 drivers penalized by the game, 4 of them (#10, #99, #08, #49) came to pit a second time after receiving their penalties, so we will consider their penalties served as they made an attempt to get to the back of the field. #24 had his black flag cleared on the start which was determined to be a legitimate black flag. Per the rules, this is a 2 lap penalty. The remaining drivers (#90, #088, #35, #43, #4, #18, #17, #28, #712, #56) are also scored as EOLL for not making an attempt to get to the back of the field. Points and the Bracket Series will be updated later.

Lap 8- #57 gets into #36; #57 did not serve his penalty and is docked 1 lap.

Lap 18- #28 is coming to pit, but starts slowing early before exiting turn four and causes a wreck behind him. #28 did not serve a penalty and is docked 1 lap in the final standings.

Lap 36- #84 into the back of #020; #84 served his penalty.

Lap 37- After taking the yellow, #60 loses control of his car and hits #00; #60 retired since he was on a 1-and-park.

Lap 43- #84 blown motor; no incident charged.

Lap 54- A check-up leads to an accordion effect with #10 into #18; it was determined this was a "racin' deal". ALSO, #54 is charged with Careless driving (failing to slow quickly enough for a wreck and causing damage to another driver; first instance is a warning).

Lap 60- #28 tries to change lanes but moves down into #8; #28 parked since this was his second incident.

Lap 65- #18 gets into the back of #27; #18 parked.

Lap 16- #083 switches from middle to low lane which causes a check-up and wreck behind him. #083 did not serve his penalty and is docked 1 lap in the final standings.

Lap 17- #49 does not use the right lane while pitting under yellow and hits and spins another car. This is an automatic incident for not staying in line under yellow. #49 did not serve and is docked 1 lap in the final standings.

Lap 33- #62 slows 4mph (appears to be trying to let a fellow drive in line possibly). This slow down causes a wreck. There was no reason for the drivers behind to expect a check-up. Incident charged to #62 who did not serve; #62 is docked 1 lap in the final standings.

Lap 39- I'm calling this a "racin' deal" as there was a check-up entering the turns. #944 gets bumper hooked off the back bumper of #99 who was slowing for the check-up. #944 already moved up the track to avoid contact. Everyone made a legit effort to avoid contact. No incident charged.

Lap 44- #2 changes lane and clips #56 starting an accident; #2 served his penalty.

Lap 51- #87 goes under the yellow line on the backstretch to pass a slower car, then misses the entry to turn 3 and slides up, taking out #6. This is a Reckless driving penalty for both passing under the yellow and not having enough control to make the turn. The first instance for this is a warning.

Lap 64- #39 and #088 were involved and were not allowed to make a call on this incident. The other admins reviewed the incident and called it on #083 for bumper-hooking #39 in the tri-oval. #39 saved it and had to come back on track. #083 moved up and then clipped #088. Because the incident would not have happened if not for bumping in the tri-oval, that was the ultimate deciding factor in the incident. #083 did not park, but the race was over, so his scoring is simply stopped on this lap since it was his second incident.

Lap 18- #87 slows to pit while still out on the racing portion of the track when he gets hit from behind. There was space ahead and below him, so he could have gone low before slowing. Because of this, incident is charged to #87 who retired.

Lap 25- #26 is in the high line but moves down into the middle lane and makes contact w/ #18, causing an accident. #26 is charged w/ the incident and retired.

Lap 26- There are TWO wrecks in the pits on this lap. Neither rises to the level of charging an incident but should be reported on.
-- The first was because #43 started to slow while still in the right-hand lane and #28 was not FULLY to the right side of pit road. This is a perfect example of why we tell drivers to stay as far to the right as possible and use the middle lane to slow down. Slowing in the right lane and following a car while straddling the middle and right lanes is sure to guarantee a wreck every pit stop.
-- The second is between #49 coming out of his stall and #143 going into his. As #49 comes out of his pit stall, he has to check up to avoid making contact w/ #143 who is about to enter his. After #143 passes #49, he slows and turns into his pit stall as #49 hits him from behind. If #49 had driven a decent distance in the middle lane, this would be a penalty, but he was just accelerating after letting #143 by, as #143 slowed down. Because of this, no incidents are charged.

Lap 43- #57 slows 11 mph while entering turn one, causing a check-up and wreck behind him. #57 is charged w/ the incident and served his penalty.

Lap 63- #45 gets into the back of #57 during a check-up. The check-up was greater than 5 mph so I'm calling this a "racin' deal."

Lap 63- There is a wreck in the tri-oval coming to the yellow flag that ends the race. A couple bad bumps coming towards the tri-oval cause the cars behind to check-up. #08 touches his brakes and #49 had no chance to avoid him. I'm calling this a "racin' deal" as well due to the fact the bumps were clean and everyone made a good effort to avoid a wreck.

Lap 64- After taking the yellow to end the race, #43 comes down into #99 and causes a wreck. Because nobody was knocked out of the race due to this wreck, and because we did not go green again, this is a meaningless wreck that doesn't justify a penalty. Had positions been lost or had we gone back green, this WOULD have been called an incident. But as it stands, nothing worth calling.

Lap 9- A check-up occurs in the tri-oval and #6 gets into #18. Since both drivers are admins, they were excluded from this call. After the rest of the admins reviewed the wreck, it was called a "racin' deal" because the check-up was over 5mph and #6 was within a half car length of #18, making it next to impossible to anticipate in time.
ALSO, #011 is charged with racing into a wreck. The first penalty is a warning and 10 point penalty.

Lap 49- #9 gets into #08 while pitting; #9 did not serve a drive-through penalty and is docked 1 lap in the final standings.

Lap 50- #54 blown motor; no incident charged.

Lap 64- Going down the backstretch, #28 moves from the middle to low line and gets a push from #17. #77 then moves down a half car width, putting most of his car in the low line, making a block (intentional or not) on #28. As this is happening, #2 and #712 give a bump to #17, who then pushes #28, increasing his speed 4mph. #28 gets into the quarter panel of #77, causing a check-up and wreck behind them.
We went back and forth for 2 days on this incident trying to determine the right call. In the end, we decided to call the incident on #77 (block that wasn't completed in time), and #2 and #712 for pushing the two cars ahead into #77.
All three cars are scored EOLL.
ALSO- #083 is charged with racing into a wreck. The first penalty is a warning and 10 point penalty.

Lap 5- debris caution; no incident charged.

Lap 23- #2 bumper-hooks himself off the back bumper of #003; #2 charged w/ the incident and retired.

Lap 30- #77 gives a bad bump to #60, causing a wreck. #77 retired.

Lap 36- #36 warps and causes an accident; #36 retired.

Lap 50- #28 gives a bad bump to #72 causing an accident; #28 served his penalty.

Lap 59- #7 slides up and clips #880; #7 served his penalty.
ALSO- #083 did not slow down for the wreck and crashed into #003. This is the second penalty on #083 for racing into a wreck. Per the rules, #083 is parked next week.

Lap 64- #944 blows 2nd gear on a restart, causing a wreck. This was a mechanical failure so no incident is charged.

DNQs next week: #88, #10, #43
1-and-parks:
Parked next race: #083 (racing into a wreck; 2nd occurance)

Lap 8- #35 pushes the #056 into the #18 who was attempting to follow the #72 which brought out the yellow. Incident on the #35 and #72. #35 retired and is considered penalty served. The #72 did not serve and, per the rules, is on a 1 & Park the remainder of the season for failure to serve for an incident 3 times in the same season in the same series.

Lap 49- #90 blown motor, no penalty.

Lap 56- #94 drifts up out her lane and collects the #6. Incident on the #94 who served her penalty.
