RTG Season 60 End of the Season Meeting

Meeting Called to Order 8:30 PM

Opening Remarks:

Rtg Xmas Race: Monday, December 18, 2023. Mod, Track, Broadcast Info all will be announced prior to race night.
Season 61 will start on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Season 61 ends on Friday, April 12, 2024.
REMINDER: BOTH RTG All-Star Races (Speedway and Superspeedway) will happen after Season 61 ends and before Season 62 starts. This will occur in April 2024 and details will be announced during the winter season.

Rule Changes and proposals

1) Jeremy Proposal Virtual Safety Car

Vote A: If you would like the following, set yourself away.

"The race admin has the ability to call a "Virtual Safety Car" caution by typing "Caution...Caution...Caution" in chat and announcing over teamspeak. Leaders will slow to the announced pace speed and allow the field to catch up. No one is allowed to pit and the field goes back "GREEN" at the start/finish line once the field catches up. Game thrown YELLOW FLAGS would still be turned on! This procedure may also be used for race stage breaks."

2) Donnie Proposal Protest Procedure
No Vote Taken. Staff will meet to discuss the creation of a separate forum section to post all protests.

3) Jeremy Proposal Chase Rules
No Vote Taken. Issue is formatting, but good discussion insued to showcase how in round #2 of a chase 8th place in pts without a win didn't always advance to next round. Reccomendation is round 2 top 8 regardless plus winners that were still in advance to next round. Reccomendation for round 1 is to take top 12 regardless plus anyone in top 20 with a win. Basically in short, dont DQ somebody from a round just because they didn't win. Leave all this up to series director format discretion, but consensus was this was a good idea. No Vote Taken.

4) Kelly Proposal Penalty for 5 Incidents in a Series
Vote B) If you would like to see the following rule modification, set yourself away.

"Upon the 5th incident of the season within a series, you will receive a 2 race suspension within that series. You will be on a 1 and park for the remainder of that season upon return."
VOTE FAILED 5/20

Explanation: RTG Staff actively and agressively pull drivers aside who cause issues on a given night. This may happen before, during, or after the season. If a driver has 10+ incidents across all series' combined in a season, RTG Owners deal with that driver prior to the next season. This is an ongoing process. Such a single night penalty rule would not address someone with a spread out distribution of multiple incidents. It may add some additional pressure that given night, but it likely would not deal with the full scale problem as intended. We would have stood behind it, and we actively sit and park drivers on certain nights for a season to fix issues.

5) JT and Bernie Proposal Mod Format
No Vote.

6) JT Proposal - Wheel glitch cautions. There will be a rule change for this common occurrence in Season 61. We hope this will deter such situations.

Vote C) If you feel that there should be a sanction for causing a caution due to retiring your car from within your own pit stall while the wheels are off the car, set yourself away.

Here is the new rule:

"The unacceptable behavior of retiring from your own pit stall with the wheels/tires off the car therefore causing a caution verifiable by both the race replay and the export will result in an incident charged against your 2 and park it plus any additional sanctions incurred covered by other RTG Rules."

This new rule WILL be mentioned in the first 2-3 driver meetings each night. It will also be a revision on Page 1 of the RTG rules and added to the full rules.

7) Bob Farrell Proposal Road Course Procedure
No Vote Taken. The proposal did not address all the nuances and unintended consequences prior to the road course yellow being thrown. Leaving this up to series director discretion.

OPEN FLOOR DISCUSSION

Bumby good comments:

a) Drivers who continuously ask stupid questions and clearly do not read RTG rules need to be dealt with for possible removal.
b) Some drivers go out of their way to follow RTG Rules and do everything possible to avoid getting restart black flags. Sadly, its the same people on the other side of this that constantly get the black flag penalties. Some people are NOT doing their part. It's ultimately unfair that the big picture is people get unfairly penalized for doing the right thing when others get unfairly rewarded by not being penalized for blatant infractions.

Answer: Drivers who continually get restart BF are reviewed and noted. These will be taken care of next season!

Bones idea to include the 10 page1 rules in right side of teamspeak for each series.
a) we cannot do this for each series due to character limits plus the series schedule, BUT....
b) we may be able to make it's own channel for it. We will experiment with this.

Dante did a test of the RaceLM RTG email listserve. Aside from 5-6 emails, majority of members appeared to have received the test message.
