BareBones Racing Incident Reports for Season 33

Optimus Prime wrote: September 9th, 2014, 9:39 pm Race #1 - Texas World 2007 (9/8/2014)

Lap #14: #4 goes 3-wide on the bottom into turn 1 and does not hold the bottom, sliding up and making contact with the #44 (now middle groove) who then collected the #5 (upper groove). Incident on #4. #4 correctly served his 4-tire stop on the second caution lap. #4 did pass the #11 after the yellow came out and is given a warning only, as he subsequently yielded the position back in the course of serving his 4-tire stop.

Lap #26: #71 slides up into the #5 in turn 3. Incident on #71. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap.

Lap #36: #44 hits the wall exiting turn 2 then collects the #14, spinning him off the track. The yellow does not come out. The #003 then comes up the racing surface and hits the #95, collecting the #95 and the #5. Incidents charged to both the #44 and #003. The #44 did NOT correctly serve his 4-tire stop on the second time by and will be penalized 1-lap as per the rules. The #003 while attending to admin duties notified the other admins prior to the restart that he was uncertain if he served his 4-tire stop on the correct lap and then made another 4-tire stop under green on the first green lap, causing him to go a lap down. This was acceptable and no further penalty is issued.

Lap #42: Going 3-wide into turn 3, there is contact between the #71 and #39 with the #39 being sent up the track collecting the #49 and eventually the #20. This was an incredibly close incident. After numerous admin reviews from all possible vantage points, this incident is called on the #39. Special credit and recognition goes to the #71 (Brian Orto) who chose to voluntarily park, as this would have been his second incident even if this was ruled a racing deal (goes on both in that instance) and would have resulted in him being parked next week if he hadn't. Seeing how close it was, I would have likely done the same. Good job. The #39 did NOT correctly serve his 4-tire stop on the second time by and is penalized 1-lap as per the rules.

Lap #57: Exiting turn 4, the #044 moves up the track and makes contact with the #5 causing him to wreck. Incident on #044. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second time by.

Lap #67: #44 in the middle while in the tri-oval moves up the track and makes contact with the #5, causing the #5 to spin and collect the #39. Incident on #44. This incident affectively ended the race from positions 3 back, as the caution came out as the field crossed the line and 3rd place on back took the caution, leaving only 1st and 2nd to race back. As per the rules, the field is frozen and positions 3 on back were scored in the position that they took the caution. Unfortunately, this was the second caution on #44. As the race did not restart, scoring is stopped for the #44 at lap 67, and as per the rules, he will be on a one-and-park for his next race.

Can Not Qualify for next week (9/15)
#16 Jason Justis
#088 Tim Noftsker
#80 Jeff Crivello
#44 Dan Rubino - on one-and-park

CONGRATULATIONS TO #16 JASON JUSTIS ON THE WIN!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO #80 JEFF CRIVELLO ON THE CHALLENGER WIN! (FINISHED 3RD OVERALL)

GREAT RACING EVERYONE!! Thanks for coming out! Despite the yellows, we saw some absolutely awesome racing going on throughout, along with plenty of respect and "give and take" going on. :good: :good: We hope everyone enjoyed the race and had a good time.

Incident Resulting in a Restart: Incident on #003. This is now a charged incident as per the new rule.

Lap #49: #5 into #015 on the backstretch. Incident on #5. #5 correctly served his 4-tire stop on the second caution lap.

Lap #54: #80 slides up into the #8 in turn 4. #71 spins while attempting to evade #80 as the wreck was beginning and is collected by #4. Incident on #80. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap.

Lap #62: #088 into #39 then #49 in the tri-oval. Incident on #088. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap.

Lap #69: #4 hits apron then slides up and hits the #41 sending him into the wall where he collects the #102. Incident on #4. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap.

Lap #75: #50 into #5 who then collects the #011, #088 and #4 on the backstretch. Incident on #50. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second time by.

Lap #86: #044 makes contact with #50 in the tri-oval, then comes up and spins #15, also collecting #24 then others. Incident on #044. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap. Two separate incidents of potential "racing through a wreck" penalties were very carefully reviewed with this incident. Consideration was given, as this caution was within the racing back period near the end of the race. After this thorough review, a warning is issued to #4 for racing through a wreck, for hard contact with a nearly stationary truck well after the incident, after taking the caution at the line and with no apparent attempt to avoid the hard contact or significantly slow.

Lap #91: #4 into #102 in turn 4. Incident on #4. #4 properly parked, as unfortunately this was his second incident. As per the rules, he will be on a one-and-park for his next race.

Can Not Qualify for next week (9/22)
#16 Jason Justis
#49 Frank Divvens
#39 Josh Metallic
#44 Dan Rubino - on one-and-park
#4 Stan Skelton - on one-and-park

CONGRATULATIONS TO #16 JASON JUSTIS ON THE WIN!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO #8 JOURDAN SWANHART ON THE CHALLENGER WIN! (FINISHED 4TH OVERALL)

A tale of two races this week. The first one-half plus of the race was caution free, including green flag stops and featured some absolutely awesome racing action throughout the field and plenty of give and take. The last part of the race, not so much, but most of those incidents were a just simple result of guys not yet being used to racing close around each other. No worries, this is almost expected in any new series as we get to know one another. We can and we know we will do better! Thanks to everyone for coming out!

Next week we are at RTR Motor Speedway!! We hope to see you there!!

Lap #22: #15 into #08 in turn 1. Incident on #15. #15 correctly served his 4-tire stop on the second caution lap.

Lap #50: #003 into #08 causing #08 to spin off the track. No yellow comes out. As per the rules this is now a charged incident. Incident on #003. #003 correctly served a drive thru penalty on the next time by under green.

Lap #56: #5 into #50 in turn 1. Incident on #5. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap.

Lap #65: #15 into #102 on the front stretch which also collects the #9 and #24. Incident on #15. Unfortunately, this was the second incident on #15. As per the rules regarding causing 2 incidents and parking in a race, #15 should have parked after this second incident. #15 did not park and continued to race. Under the rules, the penalty for not parking after causing two incidents, is having to sit out the next race. Both incidents involving the #15 were reviewed by multiple RTG & MSR Owners/Admins. #15 is parked for next week's race and will be a on a one-and-park the following week as per the rule. #15 is certainly welcomed to attend and watch next weeks race and participate in TeamSpeak and the drivers meeting.

Lap #71: #16 pushes up the track and there is contact between the #16 and #08 in turn 2, causing the #08 to spin. This incident was examined in great detail given the possible consequence regarding the race victory, even though that is never a consideration when examining any incident. This incident was separately and independently reviewed by numerous RTG & MSR Owners and Admins utilizing several different replays, as there was also clear evidence of what can be best described as "tick warping" going on with both the #16 and #08 during this incident. Upon separately reviewing this incident on their own, each and every Owner and Admin all reported, unanimously, that this incident is on the #16. Incident on #16. #16 did NOT serve his 4-tire stop on the second time by and is penalized 1-lap as per the rules. *9/25 - This ruling has been protested by #16 and submitted to the Replay Review Committee. ** 9/27 - The Replay Replay Review Committee has determined and affirmed that this incident is on #16.

Lap #76: #003 spins in turn 4, then #28 spins while trying to avoid #003 who was stopped, and hits the #003. Incident on #003. Unfortunately, this was the second incident on #003 and he properly parked. The rules governing Challenger Series drivers provide that a driver causing two incidents must park, but is not placed on 1-and-park for the next race.

Lap #88: #015 and #5 are side by side in turn 4 when #015 touches the apron and then makes contact with #5. Incident on #015. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap.

Lap #93: #41 moves up and makes contact with the #5 on the front stretch. Incident on #41. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap.

Lap #102: #4 hits the wall in turn 4 and then collects the #41. Incident on #4. #4 properly parked as he was on 1-and-park. #4 will still be on 1-and-park for the next race.

Lap #107: #71 slides up into #08 in turn 1 and the #08 spins. Incident on #71. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap.

Lap #112: There were three potential incidents reviewed for this lap. A. #8 gets into the rear of #50 in turn 1, spinning #50. Incident on #8. B. While the field is racing back to the caution flag, the #044, #011 and #088 are three wide in turn 3 and there is minor contact between the #044 and #011, sending the #044 up the track. No car spins and no other car is involved, therefore no incident is charged here as the minor contact would not have resulted in an incident or a yellow flag. C. Also while the field is racing back, #8 checks up in turn 4 and is collected by #9 and #102. Incident on #8. #8 properly parked as unfortunately this was his second incident. The rules governing Challenger Series drivers provide that a driver causing two incidents must park, but is not placed on 1-and-park for the next race.

Lap #116: #41 gets into the back of #71 in turn 3 and #71 spins. Incident on #41. #41 properly parked as unfortunately this was his second incident. The rules governing Challenger Series drivers provide that a driver causing two incidents must park, but is not placed on 1-and-park for the next race.

Penalties: #15 Sean Kerrigan for failing to park after 2 incidents (see above). #15 is parked for the next race (9/29).
#5 David Day for disrespectful conduct toward an owner. #5 is on probation for all RTG races for the remainder of this season.

Can Not Qualify for next week (9/29)
#6 Zak Femouw
#088 Tim Noftsker
#39 Josh Metallic
#44 Dan Rubino - on one-and-park
#4 Stan Skelton - on one-and-park

CONGRATULATIONS TO #6 ZAK FREMOUW ON THE WIN!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO #80 JEFF CRIVELLO ON THE CHALLENGER WIN! (FINISHED 6TH OVERALL)

The first half of this race was incredible, with two very long runs of awesome, side-by-side, hard, competitive racing action throughout, and us all enjoying every second of it. IT WAS A BLAST!!

THIS is where we are all going together in this series!!
I cannot even count how many times all the positions changed back and forth just around where I was!! Impressive job everyone!! :D :D :good:

The culture again appeared to change in the second part and we found ourselves worshiping the blinking caution lights.:banghead: Why? I have my own theory, but what I do know is, when we race like we did the first half-plus of the last two races we are all going to have something special. We will get there all together. I can't remember the last time I saw so much awesome racing thoughout the field for so long, and we loved listening to the great racing time and respect you all showed. WOW!!! That's what it's all about right there and what we all love and look forward to. Thanks to everyone for coming out and putting on that great display!!!

Next week we are at Michigan NRT 400!! We hope to see you there!!

Lap #24: #083 spins in turn 4 and gets into the wall. Incident on #083. #083 properly parked, as unfortunately this was his second incident. The rules governing Challenger Series drivers provide that a driver causing two incidents must park, but is not placed on 1-and-park for the next race.

Lap #41: #4 hits the wall exiting turn 2 and gets into #011 who then spins and flips. No yellow comes out, but this is an incident as per the rules. Incident on #4. #4 was on a one-and-park, but did not park and continued to race. #4 is parked for next week's race and will continue to be on a one-and-park the following week as per the rule. #4 is certainly welcomed to attend and watch next weeks race and participate in TeamSpeak and the drivers meeting.

Lap #43: #015 hits the wall exiting turn 2 and gets into #80. Incident on #015. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap.

Lap #5: #90 spins #49 in turn 3. Incident on #90. #90 did NOT correctly serve a 4-tire stop on the second caution lap (took only 2-tires) and is penalized 1-lap as per the rules.

Lap #11: There was a check-up further ahead in the field in turns 3 & 4, and while the vehicles closer to the check-up all properly reacted and slowed, further back #90 did not, and continued until he struck and spun #018. Incident on #90. This was the second incident on #90 and he properly parked. As per the rules, #90 will be on a 1-and-park for his next race.

Lap #66: #73 bumps #08 onto the apron in the tri-oval, then his front bumper gets hooked on the rear bumper of #08 causing him to go up the track and spin #5. Incident on #73. As this was the last lap of the race and #73 could not serve his 4-tire stop, he is scored behind the lead lap cars as per the rules.

Lap #17: #532 comes up into #9 and #102 exiting turn 2. Incident on #532. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap. While under caution, #80 slid into the back of #71 as the field slowed behind the pace truck. Incident on #80. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap.

Lap #54: #532 self spins in turns 1 & 2. Incident on #532. This was the second incident on #532 and he properly parked. As per the rules, #532 will be on a 1-and-park for his next race.

Lap #76: #50 (low line), #5 (middle line) and #80 (upper line) are 3-wide in the tri-oval approaching turn 1. As they approach the turn entry, #50 moves up the track into #5, forcing the three trucks together and #5 gets into #80 causing a wreck. Incident on #50. #50 did NOT serve his 4-tire stop on the second time by and is penalized 1-lap as per the rules.

Lap #83: Motor blows on #102 in turn 1. Mechanical failure. No incident charged.

Penalties: #15 Sean Kerrigan and #50 Rex Adams for blocking (reviewed by multiple admins after driver complaints). As both drivers were present when Terry issued a warning to all drivers for all RTR series during a recent Wednesday race, this becomes a 1-lap penalty as per the rules on blocking.

Incident Resulting in a Restart: #088 into #10 in turn 3 of lap 2. Incident on #088.

Lap #2: #28 jumps the curb in turn 1, goes into the grass then comes back onto the track and spins #85 and #49. Incident on #28. #28 retired.

Lap #8: #71 gets into #10 entering turn 1, knocking #10 into #102 who spins. Incident on #71. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap.

Lap #13: #15 into #80 in turn 3. Incident on #15. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap.

Lap #59: #71 spins in turn 1. Incident on #71. Unfortunately, this was the second incident on #71 and he properly parked.

Lap #106: #102 gets loose exiting turn 4 in the upper groove and collects #85 exiting the turn in the low groove. Incident on #102. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap. While pitting under this caution on lap 108, #85 spins entering the pits and hits #80 which caused #80 to receive a black flag for improper entry. Unfortunately, as per the rules, this is a 1-lap post race penalty when brought to the Admin's attention after the race.

Lap #112: On the restart going into turn 1, #9 checks up as #088 (ahead) drifts up and #49 gets into #9 while #532 is entering below him. After a multiple admin review, this is termed a racing deal and no incident is charged. 4-tire stop was correctly served on the second caution lap by both #9 and #49.

Lap #120: No Caution. #532 makes contact with #118 in turn 3, then jumps the curb into the grass exiting turn 4 and starts to spin as he gets collected by #85. Incident on #532. #532 correctly retired and remains on one-and-park.

Lap #130: No Caution. #9 spins #10 in turn 3. Incident on #9. As there was no caution, #9 correctly served a drive thru penalty under green.

TOP NOTCH RACING!!! :good: :good:
Only one incident from contact. Incredible, clean, hard, green racing!! This race had all the elements that make great racing. Hard side-by-side battles with many positions and the lead swapping back and forth, different pit timing agendas and tire strategies, all leading to close battle right to the finish, where if the race was a lap or two shorter or longer the winner would likely have been different. YOU GUYS CONSTANTLY RAISE THE BAR FOR WHAT GREAT RACING IS!! Amazing!! :clapping: :clapping: Thanks to everyone for coming out!!
