Season 55 - RTR TallyChallenge Series Incident Reports

Post by JoshM »

Race 1- 1/6/22

Lap 6- #43 has a computer glitch and gets into #2; #43 only took two tires so he did not serve the penalty correctly, but he restarted 2nd-to-last-place so there is is considered penalty served.

Lap 15- #2 gives a bad bump to #344/#111; #2 did not serve his penalty so he is docked a lap in the final standings and a DNQ for his next race.

Lap 36- #98 warps backward into #48 which causes a wreck; #98 served his penalty.

Lap 57- #99 gets into #2 entering the pits for green flag pit stops. The next lap the yellow came out for another wreck, so #99 served his penalty doing a 4-tire stop on the second caution lap.

Lap 58- #00 unexpectedly slows (computer issue?) and gets hit from behind; #00 served his penalty.

Lap 62- #26 is slow to go on the restart and it causes a wreck behind him; #26 served his penalty.

Race 2- 1/13/22

Lap 16- An accordion-effect happens mid-pack and causes a check-up behind which causes a crash. After a lengthy review, it was called a racing deal; no incident charged.

Lap 31- #91 gives a bad bump to #26; #91 served his penalty.

Lap 37- #84 gives a bad bump to #6. The bad bump caused a chain reaction that resulted in a wreck. #84 served his penalty.

Lap 57- #85 has a major warp and self-wrecks; #85 parked.

Lap 62- A wreck occurs at a restart. The lead car took off but didn't get a good start. The second car checks up and it checks up the field and causes a wreck. No driver at the front blew the start, and the trailing cars did not go early, so this is being called a racing deal. No incidents charged for this wreck.

The finishing order will be fixed on Monday. Per the rules, the finish order will be set by the order of drivers blending back into the track after the wreck.

The finishing order has been updated. Because the wreck happened at the S/F line and the field was past it before the actual yellow came out, the field was set by the order in which they raced back to the yellow flag. This does not include the cars that retired prior to the checked flag; they were scored behind everyone that finished the race.

Race 3- 1/20/22

Lap 12- #111 cuts down into #99; #111 served his penalty.

Lap 19- #2 moves down into #98; #2 retired. #111 is also charged for driving into the incident and causing another wreck. This was his second incident. He did not park so his scoring is stopped on this lap and he is parked for the next race.

Lap 23- #38 loses a gear on a restart heading into turn one. This causes an accordion effect check-up and causes a couple of cars to get spun out. There are no incidents charged as the blown gear is a mechanical failure, and nobody at the back did anything to warrant a penalty, so this will go down as a 'racing deal.'

Race 4- 1/27/22

Lap 1- The outside line gets a sloppy start and results in some cars spinning. No incident charged and race was restarted. We really need to do a much better job on starts and restarts. Give a car length to the car ahead. If people are too close and not giving any breathing room, it will cause checkups every time.

Lap 11- #7 slides up the track in turn one and causes a checkup that results in a wreck; #7 served his penalty. He led a lap while doing so, and per the rules, that point will be taken away.

Lap 31- #28 starts to slow to pit but is bumped from behind while still on the racing surface. #28 is charged with the incident and served his penalty.

Lap 38- #56 gets into #93; #56 served his penalty.

Lap 45- #6 gets into #27; #6 served his penalty.

Lap 54- #91 gets into #56; #91 served his penalty.

Lap 60- #0 blows a motor; no incident charged.

Race 5- 2/3/22

Lap 18- #60 gets into #93 entering the pits for a green flag pit stop; #60 started in the back after all the chaos under yellow, so this is considered penalty served.

Lap 19- #98 warps when typing for pit and it caused his car to warp and cause a wreck. This has been a known issue for awhile now. #98 is not allowed to return to racing until this problem has fixed. #22 also charged with a secondary incident for failing to slow enough; #22 served his penalty.

Lap 38- #143 gets into #111 coming into the pits for a green flag pit stop. The contact was probably 100 yards from the pit line and #111 was well below the pit speed, so I cannot fault #143 for this contact. No incident charged.

Lap 55- #94 slides up and clips #17; #94 served a drive through the next lap.

Race 6- 2/10/22

Lap 6- #8 bumper-hooks #6 in the tri-oval to cause a caution. Coming out of the tri-oval, he also clips #7 and parks himself after that. These incidents are not being charged separately. The outside lane had moved down the track through the tri-oval enough where it would not be fair to blame #8 for that contact. As a result, #8 will NOT be on a 1-and-park next race.

Lap 21- #22 moves down into the middle lane and gets into #4. This sends #22 up the track into the wall and a wreck occurs. #22 served his penalty.

Lap 29- #90 tries to change lanes and moves up and bumper-hooks #52; #90 served his penalty.

Lap 33- #143 is given a warning for Careless Driving for moving up into a lane that was already occupied and making other drivers move to avoid an accident. This first instance is a warning only.

Lap 43- During a check-up, #43 gets bumped and wrecks into the infield wall. After review, #80 (who bumped #43) DID check-up in an effort to avoid contact, but it happened anyway. No incident is charged for this.

Lap 61- #111 gets into #86 and spins him; #111 did not serve so he is docked one lap and a DNQ for next race.

Race 7- 2/24/22

Lap 18- #47 gets into #43 during a big check-up in the low lane. #47 never had a chance to avoid contact, so I cannot fault him for this incident. This was a "racing deal".

Lap 23- #80 gets into #6; #80 served.

Lap 28- #08 moves up into #77; #08 served.

Lap 45- #7 moves up into #23; #7 served.

Lap 66- #17 is given a Careless driving warning for moving down into another car and knocking him off the track. The first offense penalty is a warning.

Lap 66- #088 moves up to block #48 but bumper-hooks himself. #088 is scored EOLL and a 1-and-park for the next race.

Points and brackets will be updated on Monday.

Race 8- 3/3/22

Lap 8- #616 moves from the low to middle lane but isn't completely clear of the #48. At the same time, #48 receives a bump from #8. The combination of the bump from #8 and lane change of #616 causes #48 to wreck. Incident is charged to both #616 and #8. #8 correctly served his penalty. #616 only took TWO tires so he did not serve correctly. But because #616 restarted on the last row, this is still considered penalty served.

Lap 13- #24 tried to switch lanes but clips a car and causes an incident; #24 served his penalty. ALSO, #0 is charged an incident for racing into a wreck and causing another incident. He did not serve a penalty so he is docked 1 lap in the final standing and a DNQ for his next race. LASTLY, #111 is docked a lap for racing back to the yellow and passing another car.

Lap 18- #143 warps on the restart and when he comes back onto the track, it causes a wreck; #143 served his penalty. ALSO, #111 again passed cars coming back to the yellow. This is another 1 lap penalty.

Lap 27- #111 moves up from the low to middle lane but is not clear and bumps #92 causing an incident. #111 led a lap while in the process of serving his penalty, so that bonus point will be removed per the rules.

Lap 39- #24 warps into another car and it starts a wreck. This was #24's second caution so he parked.

Lap 49- #52 moves up in the tri-oval and clips #93, causing him to wreck. It is suspected this was in retaliation for #93 moving up the track on the backstretch and claiming the middle lane. This was reviewed and it was determined #93 was given enough room to move up the track without forcing #52 to move. #52 is charged with Reckless driving for this incident and scored in last place per the rules. #52 did not serve the incident penalty so he is docked 1 lap and a DNQ for the next race.

Lap 58- #56 bumps #088. #088 then bumps #17 who gets loose and then bumper-hooks #088. #56 charged for pushing #088 into the contact; #56 retired.

Lap 66- In turns three and four, #17 moves under #111. The move was aggressive and there was not much room, however the move was made cleanly and without forcing anyone to move out of the way, so this is considered a clean move. #111 moves down the track and makes contact w/ #17 which leads to a wreck. #111 is charged the incident and will be a 1-and-park next race, per the rules. He is scored EOLL. This incident was protested and the Replay Committee ruled #111 was NOT responsible for this incident. Per the rules, this incident has been changed to a "racing deal".

Race 9- 3/10/22

Lap 9- #91 warps and causes a wreck. The yellow did not come out so #91 did a drive-through to serve his penalty.

Lap 16- A check-up results on a couple of spun cars; this is a "racing deal".

Lap 19- #8 and #088 get into other cars while pitting under green; both cars served their penalties.

Lap 26- #55 blows a motor; no incident charged.

Lap 37- #7 pushes up in turn one and gets into other cars; #7 served his penalty.

Lap 44- #011 bumps and spins #038; #011 did not serve so he is docked a lap and and DNQ next race.

Lap 52- #23 moves into the low lane causes #143 to take evasive action but still causes a wreck. #23 charged with incident and he served.

Lap 66- #0 bumps a car going into turn three and checks up, and then he is bumped and spun. This was determined to be a "racing deal" as he slowed almost 10 mph; no incident charged.
