Rusty’s Fantasy Nascar Update

Optimus Prime wrote: August 24th, 2019, 8:03 am Well, as we near the fall, summer ends, the stupid tropics no doubt threaten us, football gets cranking, Sim Racing launches it’s fall seasons and we have the final push to crown this year’s fantasy racing champion.

As they stand now, no shocker here to see Robert Baucom currently standing atop the pile. Just like on the sim track, Robert is a fantasy force to be reckoned with every year, as was our dear departed friend Rusty.

But Robert is not alone. Grant Wessley is right there and sits right in Robert’s draft just a few points behind.

Then behind Grant and Robert, we find a big pack that runs to at least 9th, that are all easily just one more good race away from 3rd place, perhaps even the big two. An even larger gaggle then runs from appx 10th all the way into the mid twenties.

Bottom line, it still is anybody’s season! Remember, this format ONLY uses your best 15 races. So, if you have a bad week, your points actually don’t change, you must beat your lowest score of your best 15 races to gain any points at this point.

The leaders no doubt have a hard time beating their best scores now, but a driver sitting way down the standings today, has an easier time beating his lower scores from earlier in the year, and now climbing the rankings while the others struggle to gain any points. We’ve seen it every year and Rusty would point it out, when somebody in the uppers 20’s rockets to contention for the championship in a couple races.

So good luck the rest of the way, don’t give up, nobody’s out of it. Who will take the crown of the league our dear friend created for us?

Enjoy!
