RTR Rules & Format Changes for Season 55

Current rule re: Falling out of the Server.
If you fall out of the server and reconnect during a caution you must hold your position and NOT pass the pace car.
After discussion, proposed rule change;
If you fall out of the server and reconnect during a caution, this is an NR2003 Game Glitch! you must ignore your spotter, hold your position, NOT pass the pace car, NOT blow the stop sign, and NOT pass any cars that maintain pace speed under caution in a pacing line.
Vote PASSED

Current rule re: Lap down drivers that cause a caution.
1st Incident in a race -If you are the cause of an Incident or think you are the cause you must do a 4 tire pit stop on the 2nd caution lap or later.
Issue was raised regarding lap down drivers that cause a caution getting to pit the second time by with other lap down cars: Several options were discussed, but a uniform solution that would not have other consequences could not be found at this time. No action was taken and the item may be re-visited in the future.

Current rule re: Racing the Leaders.
If you are a lapped car and you feel you need to race the cars that are racing for the lead and you take one or more of them out you will receive your 1 and only warning.
2nd Offence: Parked for the night.
3rd Offence: Parked for 1 full season from all RTR events..
Proposal made to remove this rule as such action is covered elsewhere under the rules. After discussion,
Vote PASSED

Current rule re: Blocking that causes a crash.
Your Blocking causes a crash = -50% of your points plus penalties listed above.
Blocking Definition: To make abrupt lane changes in an attempt to stop another competitor from passing you
Proposal made to remove this rule as such action is covered elsewhere under the rules. After discussion,
Vote PASSED

Current rule re: Weaving Under Caution.
There is No weaving back and forth under caution. You will be warned the 1st time and black flagged there after..
Proposal made to remove this rule as if weaving causes an incident, it is covered elsewhere under the rules and weaving does not gain an advantage.
Vote PASSED

Current rule re: 1st Lap incidents (Corner 1 & 2).
Any driver who causes an incident in the 1st or 2nd corner on a restart from over aggressive driving will get a Careless Driving Penalty..
Proposal made to remove this rule as such action is covered elsewhere under both the incident and driver conduct rules. After discussion,
Vote PASSED

Current rule re: Intentionally Causing a Wreck After taking the Checkered Flag.
If you intentionally cause a wreck between the checkered flag and the back straight you will be charged an incident and moved the EOLL of the lap you're on in scoring.
After a lengthy discussion and initial passed proposal to change the rule, possible issues were raised and subsequent proposal was made to remove this rule in its entirety.
Vote PASSED

Current rule re: Pole Position on Race Start.
The driver winning the pole position must start where the game puts them, they don't have a choice of high or low. On restarts the race leader still has the choice of high or low.
After discussion proposed rule change;
The race leader on all race starts and restarts will have their choice of high or low lane
Vote PASSED

Current rule re: Restart Pace Speeds.
On restarts the race leader must stay +/- 5 mph of pace speed and will go on GREEN.
- If you are more than +/- 5 mph of pace speed or drastically varying your speed before you start the restart you may receive a black flag or a -1 lap post race penalty.
- The leader must stay within 1.0 seconds of the pace car until it leaves the track on the start or any restart of the race"
After discussion proposed rule change;
The race leader will control all race starts and restarts, but if they receive a black flag they will need to serve it.
Vote FAILED

Current rule re: Dirt Racing-First Self Spin.
The 1st solo self spin on dirt will NOT count toward your 2 and park. BUT if this effects any driver other than yourself it will count as an incident.
After discussion it was decided that the rules regarding racing on dirt in nr2003 will be archived for future use and evaluation when and if we start another dirt series. Iracing has it’s own rules.

Discussion was brought up about the limit for replay reviews in a season/series. No action was taken, and the rule will be reviewed and clarified during the next staff meeting. Staff is in the process of reorganizing the rules and making them easier to navigate.

Driver input was sought and received regarding possible qualifying format changes for the Talladega Challenge Series.

Meeting adjourned at 9:57pm est
