RTR Rules & Format Changes for Season 56
Current rules re: Incidents not bringing out the Caution.
After discussion, proposed rule change; The Driver who was spun must make a complaint/protest post race to the race director.
Vote PASSEDThe Driver who was spun may make a complaint/protest post race to the race director.
Current rule re: Caution in the last 4 laps.
After discussion, proposal made to remove this rule.If an accident happens at the start/finish line with 4 or less laps to go the field will be froze on how all drivers merge back into the field, NOT your F2 position.
The final results will not be Official until a mandatory replay review is completed.
We will also be looking for anyone intentionally passing under caution and racing into the wreck.
Anyone receiving a black flag because of this will have it cleared.
This rule is mostly for super speedways but will go for any race.
Vote PASSED
Current rule re: Incidents ending the Race.
After discussion, proposed rule change; If you cause the incident that ends the race you will be on a 1 and park the next week.
If this is your 2nd incident you will be on a 1 and park and be a DNQ the next week .
You will still be required to do your 4 tire pit stop as a penalty for the incident.
Vote PASSEDIf you cause the initial or any additional incidents that end the race you will be on a 1 and park the next week. If this is your 2nd incident you will be on a 1 and park and be a DNQ the next week .You will still be required to do your 4 tire pit stop as a penalty for the incident.
Current definition re: Incident definition.
After discussion, proposed definition change;Any action by you or your internet connection that results in the Yellow flag coming out (whether it be a self spin, mechanical failure or contact with another car.)
Vote PASSEDAny action by you or your internet connection that results in the Yellow flag coming out (whether it be a self spin or contact with another car.)
Current rules re: Game Glitches. Add to the list;
No vote required, administrative advisement and item will be discussed in next Staff meeting. The repeated practice of idling and failing to hit Drive when the race screen loads, until after a significant period of time has passed after other drivers have already joined the starting grid.
Current rule re: Race Restarts.
After lengthy discussion, proposed rule change; It is up to series directors to allow 1 race restart if there is an Incident or a driver has an issue before all cars complete lap #2.
Vote PASSEDIt is up to series directors to allow 1 race restart if there is an Incident or a driver has an issue before all cars complete lap #2. Any additional restarts will be at the discretion of the Series/Race Director
Current rule re: Incidents not bringing out the Caution.
After discussion, proposed rule change; The Driver who was spun may make a complaint/protest post race to the race director.
Vote PASSEDThe Driver who believes they were on the receiving end of an incident that did not bring out a caution may make a complaint/protest post race to the race director.
Current rules re: Cautions-No racing back.
andWhen the caution comes out, HOLD YOUR LINE and RACE AT A STEADY SPEED back to the line.
Anyone caught intentionally passing for position under yellow may receive a black flag or a -1 lap penalty. If you find someone in violation, let the series director know post race with the lap and car number involved. ***With 15 or less laps to go, and the yellow comes out, you are allowed to race back to the yellow flag.***
After discussion, proposed rule change;1. When the Caution comes out reduce your speed and hold your position to the Yellow flag.
Vote FAILEDRacing back safely under yellow will be allowed, but you still must slow around the incident and not race into a wreck.
Current rule re: Lining up for restarts.
After discussion, proposed rule change to add the following sentence to the existing rule; The field will form double file when we get the 1 to go. The race leader has their choice of the high or low line, 3rd on back will line up evens high and odds low.
Vote PASSEDThe Series Director may implement a “Choose/Cone Rule” at their discretion.
Current rule re: Race restarts
This proposal was withdrawn by the submitter as it was covered satisfactorily by the earlier discussion and passed rule change which reads; It is up to series directors to allow 1 race restart if there is an Incident or a driver has an issue before all cars complete lap #2.
It is up to series directors to allow 1 race restart if there is an Incident or a driver has an issue before all cars complete lap #2. Any additional restarts will be at the discretion of the Series/Race Director
Current rules re: Field spacing during caution A point was made for race Admins to remind the drivers that while under caution, where they are not pitting as they approach pit road entrance but vehicles ahead are pitting, they need to catch up to the pace car or field asap. No vote required for “Cyber’s catch up to the damn pace car” rule
Proposed new rule impacting a single series (Talladega Challenge).
After discussion; Vote FAILEDNewcomers to the Talladega Challenge shall be required to start the race in the pack of the field for 1 Season.
Current rules re: Incidents that cause a Race Restart.
After discussion, proposed addition to rule;It is up to series directors to allow 1 race restart if there is an Incident or a driver has an issue before all cars complete lap #2.
Any driver causing a race restart from an incident will be charged an incident and will count toward their 2 and park-it.
All restart incidents will be reviewed post race with the race incidents.
If someone has a mechanical failure or falls through on the pace lap it will NOT be considered a restart.
Only 1 mechanical restart per driver/per race.
No restarts in broadcast events.
Vote PASSEDAny driver causing a race restart for an incident will be charged an incident and it will count toward their 2 and park-it. “The driver will also be required to start at the rear of the field for any restart of the race.”
Proposed new rule re: Rookie stripes.
After discussion; Vote FAILEDNew drivers to RTG will be required to have a rookie stripe on their vehicle for their first two seasons of racing.
Current rule re: Racing deals.
After discussion, proposal made to remove this rule. Vote FAILEDWe realize that occasionally in the post race review an incident needs to be called a racing deal. But this is only after multiple Admins have reviewed the incident.
If an incident is called a racing deal there is NO post race penalty for any driver involved.
But remember just because a driver('s) call an incident a racing deal during the race, it doesn't mean it will be called a racing deal in the post race review.
Proposed new rule re: Incident Rules.
After discussion; Vote FAILEDDrivers causing an incident or involved in a racing deal will lose one point, plus one additional point per each additional vehicle involved.
Proposed new rule re: Careless driving.
After discussion, no vote held, as this conduct is covered under the rules for incidents not causing a caution. The re-organizing of the Careless/Reckless/Unsportsmanlike Driving rules is on the agenda for the next Staff Meeting.Careless driving (as per rules) that causes a car to spin or wreck with no caution shall be charged as an incident.
Meeting adjourned at 10:29pm est
Thanks to all!
