Upcoming Special Events

- The annual RTG Christmas Race is Monday December 19, 2022. The race will be a broadcast event on Flatout Racing Network. This year’s race will be using the Aero88 mod. A special paint scheme (1) is welcome but not required and many already have one for this mod. ALL DRIVERS IN THIS EVENT MUST SEND THE CAR FILE THEY ARE RUNNING TO THE ADMIN EMAIL ([email protected]) NO LATER THAN FRIDAY 12/16/22 SO WE CAN PUT THEM IN A DOWNLOAD FOR TV AND THE DRIVERS.

-The RTG Superspeedway AND Speedway All Star Races will be held in April 2023 during the break after Season 58. Dates, Mods and Tracks for these events will be announced in the forum once they are finalized. As was done with this past Speedway All Star Event, the All Star Open for each event will also be run on the same night, prior the main event. Eligibility for both All Star Main Events will be for drivers who qualified their way in during Season 56, 57 or upcoming Season 58. All other active drivers will be welcomed to run in the respective All Star Open prior to the main event on the same night. Our hope is to broadcast both All Star nights.

-Series changes will be coming in January 2023 starting with Season 58! Season 57 was the final season for the Tuesday Cup Series and the Sunday Triple X Series.
Beginning in Season 58, A New Superspeedway Series will be run on Tuesdays. The mod will be the MENcup19_cts.
Also beginning in Season 58 on Sundays, we will have the Canadian Pinty’s Series running Canadian based tracks in the NPS2017_gns Mod.

RTR Rules & Format Changes for Season 58

Current rule re: Racing deals.
Racing Deals.
We realize that occasionally in the post race review an incident needs to be called a racing deal. But this is only after multiple Admins have reviewed the incident.
If an incident is called a racing deal there is NO post race penalty for any driver involved.
But remember just because a driver('s) call an incident a racing deal during the race, it doesn't mean it will be called a racing deal in the post race review.
The membership participated in a healthy discussion on how racing deals are administered, and what differentiates between the many circumstances where an incident may be called a racing deal or called an incident on more than one driver involved. There is no provision in our current points system software to allow for “half a point”. Upon concluding the discussion there was no desired change proposed for a vote.

Current rule re: Clearing black flags on restarts.
We DO NOT clear self inflicted Black Flags.

If you get a Black flag as a result of another driver we may clear it.

Examples: A driver couldn't or wouldn't pass you while coming to the GREEN FLAG.
If you get a black flag while entering, on or exiting pit road that is caused by another driver
hitting you.

Drivers that get a black flag for unintentionally passing a car while pitting may request to have their black flag cleared, but they must be EOLL on the Restart.
This does not include passing the pace car or intentionally passing cars.
Penalty for not being EOLL would be a -1 lap post-race penalty .

Guilty of black flag
If we clear a black flag and it was legitimately yours, you will be penalized -2 laps in the final race results.
**-3 laps on short tracks**

Cause another driver to get a black flag
*** If after a post-race replay review it is found that a driver causes another driver to get a black flag, the driver at fault will
receive a post-race -1 lap penalty and be scored behind everyone on that lap.***

Causing another driver to get a black flag for speeding on pit road - A driver who “directly by contact” causes another driver to get a black flag for speeding on pit road shall be guilty of the above section and receive that penalty. A driver may only request a speeding black flag to be cleared IF that speeding was a “direct result of contact from another driver”. The driver must have immediately returned to pit speed and not have committed any other black flag offenses. A driver who requests a valid black flag to be cleared shall be guilty of having a legitimate black flag cleared and receive that penalty.
After another very productive discussion on the benefits and potential pitfalls of changing the existing rules, it was determined by the group that the best solution at this time, is for the Race Admins to make a strong point of emphasis in the driver’s meetings about the existing rule and that any black flags requested to be cleared on restarts that are later found to have been valid will be penalized according to the rules. No formal rule change proposed at this time.

Current rule re: Losing connection to the server.
Losing Connection to the Server
If a driver loses connection during a race we do NOT give laps back.

This is considered a mechanical failure on your end.

The only exception to this would be a server glitch which causes several cars to lose connection.
After discussion regarding drivers who may disappear prior to the lap scoring line and then reappearing after the line, thus losing a lap, a proposed “addition” to the end of this rule as follows;
or any instance where a driver warps across line resulting in lap loss while not falling completely out

Vote FAILED

Current rule re: Being lapped on Superspeedways.
Being Lapped on Super Speedway's
Cars being lapped on Super Speedways must stay HIGH or LOW and not in the middle of the track.

Penalty for not doing this will be a black flag.

If you are in the middle of the track when you are being lapped and cause a wreck you will be parked and scoring will be stopped there.
Proposal made to remove this rule, as drivers seem to exercise common sense on superspeedways where this rule is never needed, and any such conduct is already covered under either the Careless or Reckless driving rules, and the Incident rules should one result.
Vote PASSED

Current rule re: Provisionals in series playoffs
Substitute Drivers & Provisional
We do NOT allow any substitute drivers in any series.

Each driver will get 2 provisionals per series/per season or segment.

You can NOT use a Provisional the last race of any series or segment.

You can use a Provisional in any Chase to apply to the Challenger series only. Not the main points.

You MUST post in the forum or contact the series Director before the start of the next race to get a Provisional.

Provisional Points = 2 pts less than last place.

If there are multiple drivers asking for a provisional for the same race they will all receive the same points.
After discussion, proposal made to remove the two limiting lines of this rule and allow the 2 provisionals to be used in any series race. New rule to read;
Substitute Drivers & Provisional
We do NOT allow any substitute drivers in any series.

Each driver will get 2 provisionals per series/per season or segment.

You MUST post in the forum or contact the series Director before the start of the next race to get a Provisional.

Provisional Points = 2 pts less than last place.

If there are multiple drivers asking for a provisional for the same race they will all receive the same points.

Vote PASSED

Current rule re: Damaged vehicles on restarts.
Damaged Cars
If you are damaged we ask that you pit with 1 to go and start at the back of the lead lap cars or lapped down cars, which ever pertains to you. This is NOT mandatory but just being respectful.
After discussion on the various racing circumstances surrounding vehicle, motor or transmission damage, it was determined no rule change will be brought forward at this time. Race Admins will make this a point of emphasis as needed going forward. Drivers who start near the front on a restart while knowing their vehicle is significantly off the pace may be subject to action already in the rules under Careless or Reckless driving. No formal rule change proposed at this time.

Meeting adjourned at 9:58pm est

Thanks to all!
